According to the U.S. Department of Education and the National Center for Education Statistics, an estimated 130 million American adults read below a sixth-grade level, which means they struggle to understand simple instructions, manage household tasks, or even read a storybook to their children (NCES, 2020). This issue not only limits individual opportunities but also affects families, communities, and the future workforce.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <h3>Why It Matters<\/h3>\n\n  <p>\n    When parents lack literacy skills, the cycle often continues from one generation to the next. Children who are not exposed to reading at home are more likely to fall behind in school, face challenges with confidence, and experience fewer career opportunities later in life. Illiteracy doesn\u2019t just affect academic success\u2014it directly impacts health, employment, and overall quality of life.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <h3>Our Role in the Solution<\/h3>\n\n  <p>\n    The UHD Bilingual E-Library was created to help break this cycle. By providing families with access to bilingual stories, digital resources, and literacy workshops, we empower children and parents to learn together. Our program makes reading accessible in both English and Spanish, fostering language skills while preserving cultural identity.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <p>\n    We believe that literacy is more than reading\u2014it is opportunity. Every child deserves the chance to dream big, to succeed in school, and to build a brighter future.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <h3>How You Can Help<\/h3>\n\n  <p>\n    You can be part of the solution.
