A Sweet Rescue: Hill Elementary Mother Writes Bedtime Favorite Through the UHD E-Library
This semester, during the Gallery of Dreams (GoD) celebration, families from Hill Elementary proudly shared stories written as part of the UHD E-Library literacy classes. Among them was a heartfelt and imaginative story titled Juliana y el dulce rescate, written by Maria Jose Villegas, a devoted mother, small business owner, and participant in the E-Library program.Inspired by her daughter’s love for candy and sweet treats 🍬, Juliana y el dulce rescate tells the tale of a curious little girl and her sugary adventure. But for Maria Jose, the story goes beyond fun—it’s a reflection of her daughter’s personality and a gift she created just for her 💝.In Part 1 of a special video series 🎥, Maria Jose shares how the UHD E-Library gave her the tools and encouragement to write and publish her first story on the platform. She describes how meaningful it was to see her ideas come to life and encourages other families to join the E-Library and explore their own creativity through storytelling.Part 2 offers a personal glimpse into the impact the story has had at home 🏠. Maria Jose shares that her daughter now asks to hear Juliana y el dulce rescate every night before bed—and that it’s become her favorite bedtime story. Reading has now become a cherished family tradition, with both parents participating in nightly storytime and practicing reading skills together 📚.“This story has made a great impact in my family,” Maria Jose says. “And the E-Library has made it possible for us to grow closer, learn more, and enjoy reading together.”Her journey highlights how the UHD E-Library is more than just a digital space—it’s a source of empowerment, connection, and shared joy ✨. Through stories like Maria Jose’s, the UHD E-Library continues to help families write new chapters in their lives.
